Waiting for the winter

Today was a frosty day after a couple of weeks of very wet weather. I made a little tour around the fields to see how high the lakes and ditches are. I'd say the water level is higher than the highest most years. Even though the ground was frosty, I didn't see any more ice the ditches than what is pictured here.

The Advent Calendar theme today is "waiting". I'm waiting for more wintry weather in order to start collecting firewood.
