Sad Rose

Astonishing that some roses still have anything resembling a flower on them.  Good for them.

I decided to get the bread maker on the go again.  The first attempt did not rise and it came out like a brick.  It is now on the fire and it might keep us warm for some time to come.

Since it was a day for chores I also chopped up some logs for kindling.  It was disturbingly satisfying to wield an axe and turn a substantial log to many little pieces of stick.  Is that wrong?
