River rafting

Happy Canada day - usually we would be there for this, but this year we are in Durango CO. I seem to have a lot of Animas River blips:-) but here we are ON the river at the end of a rafting trip. Oh my, the water is so low, I think all these raft companies will be out of business in 2 more days! There was 1 class 2 rapid and many get out of the raft and push it off the rocks situations. The 3 grandkids had a great time tho - so maybe it was a good introduction. Son E went fly fishing and d-i-l A went on a trail horseback ride while the rest of us floated down the river. Later we went to a wonderful rec center with the most beautiful pools I've ever seen- something for everyone - a huge water slide, the flowing river pool, kiddy stuff, laps, diving boards. We'll have trouble keeping them from going back. Our kids went out to dinner with their cousin G who lives here and we babysat. Tomorrow it will be our turn for an adult dinner :-) Still hot! Think it was the hottest June here on record!!!! Kind of saps my energy.
