Tiny Tuesday - Leek

I realised that we had a collection of vegetables in the pantry & fridge which were beginning to look somewhat past their best, and also the remains of a roast chicken from the weekend. So making soup seemed a sensible option.

As I write this the aroma is tickling my nose and I'm looking forward to tasting it when it's done. 

Before making the soup I did, naturally(!), take the opportunity to capture a macro of the cut end of a slightly dried-up leek. The intricate construction of vegetables amazes me, especially when seen at this magnification.
