Downhill . . . . . .

. . . . . through the rough stuff, cut logs, sand, roots and trying to keep going!
This looks so benign, but it wasn't! The whole area of pine forest was cut recently and the smell of the pine is wonderful :)

This area is part of the Tuhaitara Coastal Park, which stretches from the Waimakariri River to the Ashley River. It covers an area of 575 ha along 10.5km of coastline that is under the management of the Te Kohaka o Tuhaitara Trust. 

We did get down to the coast at one point and could see right across Pegasus Bay to where my house is, on the hill above Sumner Beach. I couldn't see if the roofer had finished painting the tiles or not.  LOL.
