And you think street parking meters are expensive

The Horizon Fairbanks is one of the least fuel efficient vessels owned by Horizon Lines. And so, it has been moored at the Port of Bellingham's dock for about the past 8 years. It's a container ship -- without containers. It stays -- floating well above its' waterline -- waiting for an as yet unseen shipping boom. The price of its' parking place: just slightly less than $1000 a day.
