Sunflowers

I love sunflowers, but the one time I tried to grow them here in Indiana, I didn't have any luck. These are growing in a neighbor's yard down the street. I pass by them every morning when I take Poppy on her first walk. Our heat wave and drought is taking its toll on them. Each day they look more and more wilted. The birds are starting to go after them now. This morning I saw a gold finch sitting on one of them. I wanted to take its picture but by the time I got my camera out of my pocket it had flown off.
