Chinese Lanterns

I bought these physalis (or Chinese Lanterns) at the local coffee morning / bring and buy sale last Saturday . I'm afraid that I didn't bring anything but I did buy a couple of things.  These were grown in someone's garden. I love the fruit, especially with a fruit salad, or just on a meringue, but alas there is no fruit in these ones, only the pretty papery covering.
I've hardly seen daylight today, and I think it will be a similar story for most of the week - so be prepared to be bored by other offerings from around our house.
