Letter opening: a dying art?

In clearing my study I came across two different letter openers presented to me in Hong Kong and in Macau. They remain unused which is a shame because they look good but I simply do not have enough letters these days to justify using them. I loved writing letters when I was young and though I continue to write in different formats I rarely if ever send or receive a letter. Things like blipfoto allow me to send collective messages to my fellow blippers and communication continues. It's been one of the boons of blipfoto for me and long may it continue.

I remain under the weather but do not think now it is flu. I have my appointment with my oncologist in two weeks time and I suspect it is related to that but hope that the aches recede under the pain relief I am taking. Good job I can spend most of the week at home, I do not feel like doing much!
