one day in France

Today our local vineyard had an open day with a tour, tasting and a farmers lunch for 10 euros. We had to book in advance as only 80 places were available, and it was very interesting.
The vineyard is quite large and made of two adjoining farms which amalgamated after the marriage of the son from one and daughter of the other, many years ago.
Their son now in charge after undergoing wine making training in Bordeaux, Dijon and New Zealand, and the whole extended family were serving us our lunch, and pouring the wines.
The photo is of the old grape press, which I always thought pressed down to extract the juice, but I learned today that the base with the wooden container full of grapes goes up onto the pressing plate!
