Graffiti

This is one of my favourite lessons to teach. It's about graffiti through the ages and focuses specifically on Banksy. I always finish by asking the students to do their own piece of work.
This was done by one of the uni students and on the reverse was the number 74 surrounded by a wreath. 74 deaths at a football stadium.
The lesson always brings out hopes, fears, dreams, despair and defining moments in their lives. A few draw 'lighter' subjects such as sport. I'm always moved by the depth of feeling this drawing brings out.
