My new place of work
This is Kingsbarns distillery, my new place of work. I started working there as an Assistant Visitor Centre Manager on 25th November, so I've been working there for almost two weeks now.
Kingsbarns distillery is located in Fife, near Kingsbarns village, on the Fife coastal path, between St Andrews and Crail. The distillery itself is surrounded by barley fields, Kingsbarns golf links and the sea. The location is beautiful. I've been told that you get more sunshine in this part of Scotland; however, recently, appart from today, the weather has been awful. It's a fairly new distillery. It was officiallly opened on 30th November 2014, St Andrew's day, and they filled their first cask in March 2015. A long wait for the first whisky to appear on the market; however, if you go there and do the tour you can taste their amazing new make spirit!
Lovely place, great tour and beautiful location. Although I still have lots to learn in my new job, I'm really enjoying it. Please feel free to come and visit with family and friends and say hello! :)
Of course, this means that I'm having to move nearby, as the commuting from Edinburgh is too tiring. Luckily, I have some provisional accommodation sorted out for the moment. I have found a lovely flat in Anstruther, next to Cellardyke, the nearest town to Crail on the Fife coastal path, but I won't be able to move in it till the 11th of January, as there are still people living there.
As you can imagine, I've had many things to sort out. I do still have lots to do and not much time, so this is why I've been away from blipworld.
I got an email about Blipfoto's community funding. Not too sure yet about how it works as I haven't had the time to read about it properly but, at the moment, I'm having too many expenses as it is with the move, so I can't afford to give any funding, unfortunately. See what happens...
So, yes, just to let you know I'm still alive and doing well and to say hello! :)
Hope you're all doing well. Take care xx
