Mid-afternoon jollity
First up, a trip to the daughter’s new flat at Goldenacre - yes, she and her young man have scraped together enough readies to shell out for a lovely little second floor flat. But what weather! What winds! Unfortunately that meant that the Hearts home game was cancelled - and I’d made plans to meet up with two old pals that I hadn’t seen since schooldays, as well as a couple of others (they’d gone by the time we got a selfie together). Yes, it was the Teeth reunion - that was a snappy name for a band, was it not. Together we penned and recorded a complete album (OK, cassette tape) of choons for our eponymous debut in sixth year. Funny how easily we picked up where we left off. Still schoolboys at heart.
Norman (on the left) is living in Texas and is the only one still doing such things - as you can find out (I really ought to give it a listen at some point). Graham is now over in Fife doing quango youth group type stuff. We mustn’t leave it so long next time.
Then - the Yachtie Club Christmas Party! What fun - and for the first time there was a photographic competition, with some really excellent entries. Seriously. The winner was a bit of shoe in however. Well, it would have been a shoe in, but the Commodore announced the wrong winner! And the braggart strode up to accept his prize! After a minor kerfuffle, the Commodore rang his bell and awarded the prize to the person who had actually taken it. Aye, me.
Right, must get on. All sorts of things to catch up on. And was it really a year ago? Seems like only yesterday.
