Switch On
We all know how busy Santa is at this time of year, and so we were very lucky that he managed to find time to switch on our village Christmas lights this afternoon.
The children took it in turns to sit and have their photo taken with him afterwards.
No doubt promising to be good until Christmas!
It was nice to see it supported by so many villagers.
May be the mulled wine and mince pies for grown ups,and bouncy castle for the children helped.
There were also stalls, raffle, tombola, etc. music from the school choir, and Drighlington brass band.
So pleased it stayed dry.
I did manage to buy a present, so that is
another crossed off the list.
Now looking forward to guinea fowl au vin,
Followed by apple, cranberry, and mincemeat crumble.
I bought our tree today, which will stay outside until my helpers come on Thursday, and we can put it up in the lounge.
It really is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
However my heart goes out to all those who are not so fortunate, and who's houses are under water.
I hope they will be back home soon.
