Storm (day 2)
The storm (the weather one) continued.
Wet all day. Very windy all day. Truly horrible. Whilst getting that off my chest I know many people in Scotland (and furth) will be flooded today. My sympathy to them.
The highlight of the day was finding a lovely wee coffee shop in Limekilns to spend an hour putting the world to rights. On leaving we warned the staff we were about to open their front door. That kind of weather.
I also spent time trying to re-arrange my Rotary club's traditional (we did it last year too) December lunch outing to Edinburgh set for next Saturday. Who knows what the trains will be like? Could be Ok or it could be a nightmare.
So if the others agree, it will be a traditional December lunch outing to North Queensferry. The power of social media created that possibility. I saw a Tweet about how the Wee Restaurant there is suffering as a result of the Forth Road Bridge closure - much of their business will come from Edinburgh.
In the evening I saw they were Tweeting like crazy trying to attract customers in Fife who now don't want to go over to Edinburgh for lunch/dinner.
The Blip is the Pillars of Hercules Farm Shop where I go for most of my food shopping. You can see how wet it is. You can't see the wind.
I think it gets its name from the Rock of Gibraltar and its twin on the African side. The two hills in Falkland must have stirred the owner's imagination.
