All stirred up!

Such a stormy day today.  The winds were nothing that we have known in the time we have lived in Corbridge.  The Tyne burst it's banks for the second time in three weeks but today the force of the water was so great that the bridge over the river was closed to traffic and pedestrians for fear that it would be entirely washed away.  Several houses in the villages have been evacuated due to flood water.  The power went off for a spell this afternoon but fortunately came back on within an hour or so. We feel so fortunate to be safe, dry and warm and our home intact.  
Given the weather we stayed at home and ticked a few jobs off the list.  I made some Christmas puddings, wrote some cards and wrapped some presents.  Hope you are safe and sound tonight.
