Best dressed?
Ta-da!!
This is what the peacock feathers were for.
A few months ago, a friend posted a photo of a Christmas mannequin on Facebook and I thought 'hmm, reckon I could do that'.
I already had the mannequin in my dressing room, so it was just a case of fathoming out how to do it.
My original plan was to use offcuts from the huge fir tree in the garden at work, but I wondered how long the branches would last once cut and how many needles would drop. Another factor to consider was the horrid weather; the tree was absolutely saturated.
So, plan B was formulated. Since my usual, artificial tree had had its day, I thought I'd nothing to lose by dismantling it. If it didn't work, then I'd just buy a new tree.
It was actually easier than anticipated and took less time to do than trimming the old tree.
The peacock feathers were mainly for the epaulettes, but I've dotted a few through the skirt as well.
I'd planned a multi coloured theme for this Christmas and had bought new lights and baubles in the January sales, so it worked out perfectly.
I'm really pleased how it's turned out, and it's a little different from the norm without being too outlandish.
Hope you like it too blipmates :-)
