The Guardian
StorksRock is a Guardian member and we were lucky enough to get on only the second members tour of the print centre. When going at full speed the presses run the paper through at 27 metres per second and they have 4 stacks one to print each of the 4 CMYK colours. A very impressive operation and we were shown round by head guy Bret Lawrence who was very impressive. The operation is amazing - we were there from when the plates started coming across to press start up, the first roll-up copies and eventually the final copy.
Having read the guardian fro 30 years it was a bit of a pilgrimage. Great evening.
