Osprey

12.0C dull, grey and wet. Brighter around the middle of the day. Wind to 33 mph with gusts to 52 mph.
Rain and increasing wind forecast. Strongest gust yesterday reported as 58 mph.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am but it was too wet to walk Maeve round the harbour. I went for a short walk myself, parka hood up and camera out of my pocket only long enough to take a few pictures including this one of Osprey. I don't think any boats had left the harbour today, although the lock gate to the inner harbour was open. The tide was almost fully in and the boats were all high against the quaysides.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Enya on the Nano (Dark Sky Island). Just a 2 mile loop down to the shore road and round the main road and back home. The rain wasn't very heavy but the forecast is for more. The wind has started to pick up again and is due to be gusting over 50 mph until after 9pm.

I have been hearing radio news reports of bad flooding across Scotland, and the Met. Office has a red warning out for rain and floods in Cumbria. Some respite in the weather tomorrow I hope.
