When My Ship Comes In

I've heard the phrase "when my ship comes in" at various times in my life.  I once complimented a man I met at a conference on the ring he was wearing.  He said, "my ship came in, and I decided to splurge."  Clearly Mr. Cox left here with a different idea about what it means when your ship comes in.  The other side of the stone is blank except for the sentence, "Beyond the darkness lies the perfect day."  The grave is in the cemetery at our church.  If you view it in large, you can see the ship is named Miss Cecille.  None of the stones marking the graves have that name on them.
