The Champagne Moment
We went to the Paul Ricard Circuit at Le Castellet today to watch the Blancpain GT3 endurance race. The race was over 3 hours and there were 3 drivers per car.
There were Lamborghini's, BMW Z4's, Mercedes SLS, McLaren MP12-4C, Audi R8's and of course Ferrari's to name but a few!
There are discussions to bring the French Grand Prix to Le Castellet from next year, which is very exciting for us, as our friend's apartment is only 20 mins away.
It's a great circuit and we had access everywhere so were able to see the cars before the race, and could move around the circuit to watch it from different parts of the track.
I took over 300 photos, but quite a lot of them didn't have any cars on as they were too quick for my camera lol!
However, for the end of the race we sat opposite the podium so had a good view of the winners - Belgium teams took 1st & 2nd place, and a Swiss team were third. We were quite happy with the result as the second placed team are very local to us.
I particularly like this photo of them spraying champagne, which I cropped slightly on the computer first so that you can see the fizz of the champagne!
