No balloons in Bagan

We were up at 4.30 in preparation for our exciting balloon ride over Bagan. At 5.30 they phoned to tell us that the flight was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. (It never rains in Bagan, said the guide previously!). Bad news for us but in the great scheme of things, nothing but a disappointment.

We had a leisurely breakfast and joined the group for more temples and a walk through a local village. We had a very uncomfortable local massage as our one chance of relaxing by the pool didn't seem that appealing in the rain.

In the evening we went out for some curry and a drink. Back to Yangon in the morning. A lie in till 5.30 am. Whoop whoop.
