Snipe(Gallinago gallinago)
At last a Snipe in all its full glory, not skulking in the undergrowth, or showing off its incredible camouflage against the reeds and grasses at the edge of the river. I always wanted to see a Snipes feet and see if they were big or not, like a Moorhens, now I have a reasonable photo of a very obliging bird!
I also thought it would be good to show off my wadi and the area in which I see all these amazing birds. This is a high viewpoint from a bridge at the end of the wadi, my house is near the base of the mountains, but to get to this Wadi takes about 8 minutes. It's pretty green and lush and the water is clean and clear and full of fish, which is why it is so popular with the birds
