Diary of an Edinburgher

New table decor

Popped up to the doctor this morning for a blood test and to mention my latest ailment to her. It's weird - I have cold shins. And aching shins. I just thought it was me, but I checked with Dr Google, and lo and behold - it's a symptom! And one cause is doing lots of running (shin splints) - so we could rule that one out straight away!! She was puzzled, but took lots of blood for testing.

When I came home from the doctor, Archie greeted me in his usual frenetic manner, then returned to continue playing with JR's (dog walking) hat, which had been on the radiator. It looked none the worse for a bit of chewing.

I did a few chores, set the fire, brought wood in, changed sheets, washed the path, and then I sat down. I find I get tired over nothing much. I got a bit more of my book read, and Archie and I had wander out round the block later on, but not much else was accomplished today.

Archie's eye seems better, but we'll finish the course of drops.

The roses on the table lasted for weeks, but now, thankfully, we could replace them with the new Christmas table decoration. Archie is admiring it here.

At last the correct judgement in the Oscar Pistorius trial.
