Up, up and away - again!

This is a back blip to last Sunday.


Yes I had a holiday treat, an early morning balloon flight over Pammukale (meaning cotton castles) hot springs and the ancient site of Hieropolis.

It was not on our itinerary and we know that we were the only bus asked if anyone wanted to make up the third balloon. Chris talked me into it as he had already had a balloon flight in America.

It was an early start and still dark when we arrived at the balloons being inflated - see extra.
Despite a thunder storm that took out the hotel's power the previous evening we were assured it would be a perfect morning and sunrise. The dampness made it a little misty but we had great views of the ancient site being able to make out the shapes of roads and buildings not yet excavated. The blue pools of the hot springs were also easily seen.

Eventually the sun came up and we had to come down but I could have stayed up all day!

We went on to have a glorious day and I was on a high until I had a problem with my memory card! (see today's blip*)
