Into the sun

The first 'Winter Party' of the season this afternoon. I was very impressed by a colleague's transformation of a dingy church hall into a festive space in about 45 minutes. And back again in the 15 minutes we had for clearing up at the end. Wrapping paper and shiny stars blu-tacked onto the wall, suspended tinsel and balloons and one very long string of sparkly lights. Shame I forgot to take a picture.


Late, late, late, I have taken on board what the government I didn't vote for has done today. I knew they were voting, I wrote to my MP, I just wanted to block it out. Our winter party this afternoon was for refugees. It's so, so obvious - why can't those in power join the dots?
