Mancora, Peru
We just had surprisingly relaxing few days in Mancora. Everything we'd heard about Mancora was that it's a party town on the beach but we've managed to spend a lovely few days just chilling out.
We had no trouble crossing the bother from Ecuador into Peru which we'd heard can be tricky but we did then arrive into Mancora at 4.30 in the morning, which wasn't ideal. It got even worse when the hostel we wanted to stay at but didn't have a reservation, was booked up! However, everything got better after that and the hostel right beside it had room so we got a few hours sleep. Then we spent the day chilling out beside the hostel pool taking advantage of the perfect weather. We went into town that evening for dinner and a few drinks including our first Pisco Sours! A refreshing cocktail famous in Peru and Chile that packs a punch that you'll no longer be able to feel if you have more than two or three of them.
The next day checked into Misfits hostel, which was where we had wanted to stay and had come highly recommended. It's a small hostel consisting of four different cabanas, painted different colours with smiley faces drawn on the back of them, that are right on the beach. They have a great communal area to chill out on the sand and a very laid back vibe. Every evening we have a breath taking view as the sun sets above the sea directly in front of the cabanas.
It's about a 10 minute walk along the beach to the main town and every night we'd walk into town for dinner and then head back to the hostel for a few beers with the rest of the people staying there, before bed.
Today we're getting a 18 hour night bus to Lima and from there a 6 hour bus to Ica and the oasis of Huacachina!!
