Rhene Atrata カラスハエトリ
An absolute whopper of a spider, this one is a male and grows up to 7mm ;-)
I had a great walk by the river again, seeing a kestrel, king fisher, coots and moorhen amongst other things.
The Kestrel was the highlight; Black Kites are incredibly common (though still a pleasure to watch), but apart from an Eagle in hokkaido I think this was the only other bird of prey I've seen in Japan in 10 years.
Unfortunately my picture wasn't too hot, but I'll include it as an extra in case I don't see one again.
