There's nowt as queer as.....

Folk. An evening of DIY Scottish folk music, held in the local bowling club. Participants had very mixed abilities, from the outright novice to the accomplished musician, but almost everybody joined in by singing or playing on assorted fiddles, pipes and accordions. The resulting sound was, for the most part, impressive, and nobody minded when the harmonies started to fall apart. Which they did, frequently. I felt a bit mean not bringing anything to the musical party, but I've promised to produce a party piece next time. I'll either sing a song from that well known Scottish songwriter Leonard Cohen, or dance a highland fling on the table.
