A certain irony in the message on this building, because below it can be seen all sorts of paraphernalia associated with a rough sleeper or two. People heading two and from Oxford Road station pass them with just a swift -and perhaps puzzled - glance.

Rough sleepers have become much more visible around town this year, and particularly along the Oxford Road corridor. where there are plenty to be found. A combination of factors I would guess - increasing numbers as austerity bites, but also I think a determination to be more visible associated with the rough sleeper protests which have occurred over recent months. Presumably a significant proportion have mental problems of some sort, there will be problems associated with drugs and alcohol, and there will be some who like life this way for whatever reason. Looking forward to the 21st century many years ago this return to something like 19th century conditions is not something which I would have anticipated. But it is sadly here, and very in your face.
