Goodbye, Gemini
A frosty start to the day but it was lovely and calm. A fairly dull and overcast day and then the wind picked up, with plenty of rain this evening.
I was up early this morning and out the door to keep a check on the Gemini leaving Scalloway. Whilst waiting for the ship to leave, I popped along friends for a cuppa to warm up again. I need to go to Lerwick in the afternoon for a meeting. Still being on holiday, I had a few walkies with Sammy in the afternoon and then spent the late afternoon with the telly. Not much chance of more walks this evening, but looks like the rain will clear by tomorrow. Off to work in the pub again later tonight.
That pesky cruise liner, Gemini, has left the harbour and finally leaving Shetland. That's 700 men left the village and 700 men I won't need to serve in the pub again, although there are still men on the Bibby Challenge barge. Hope there's not too many locals losing jobs. The harbour is looking a bit bare now and the cruise liner lights were cheery, but less and less trackie bottom men about :) She's off to Dover and then off to Turkey for a refit, wonder if she'll sail back here in her glory as a liner? Taken from Trondra and looking to the Gemini, tugs Knab and Kebister and Scalloway behind. Just noticed my camera has also been on a low setting, woops!!
