Walking club

Another miserable and wet day.

However, this morning we had the AGM of our Midweek Walking Group.  It was very well attended by about 95% of the club, and it went very well.   Linda, our Chairperson, runs a tight ship, and she and the other members of committee do a terrific job for us.  The five of them were re-elected to committee for the next twelve months, and everyone is happy.

We have our own baker in the club in the form of Irene, who loves to bake and every year at the AGM provides us with a stunning array of shortbread, traybakes, fruit loaves and cakes.   She says her family really don't eat cake, and she just loves to bake.  

My photo shows three of our Committee members after the meeting, having a cuppa.  Jim in the picture is our Treasurer, and had just taken in cheques and money to the value of over £7000 as we all had to pay our subscriptions, our Christmas walk, and also our February break money.  He is fantastic and a very meticulous Treasurer, and being an accountant to trade helps a lot.
