Burned Head Portrait.

Attended the opening of an exhibition by my niece's boyfriend who is in the final year of his Fine Art degree at Manchester School of Art. The works are small scale and finely detailed. They are then distressed using a series of varnishing techniques applied 'incorrectly'. The result is really impressive, like looking into a lost soul - part heirloom, part icon.
