THE NEW LAMPS
reflected in the window.
My contribution to the mono monday challenge hosted by GoranZebuhr.
Weeks ago (maybe months) our spotlight lamp (at the ceiling) collapsed and the day after we bought a new one.
That poor new lamp lay in a corner of our room. Waiting and waiting.....
The fact was that the new armature was considerably smaller than the old one. So it was decided to clean that space and paint it first before assembling the new one.
But who was going to look if we had some white paint in the closet and if there was, would the white colour the same?
I did not fancy to paint the whole ceiling, so I ignored the whole issue.
But miracles are sometimes happening.
I checked the paint, cleaned the spot and Piet Hein assembled the lamp.
It took nearly the whole afternoon, some minor problems came up, but look, how wonderful the painting of Marjolein Jurray is lighted up.
Next to the lamp in that corner stood a MP3 player and I took the opportunity to put it on my table and right at this moment I can listen to CD's as much as I want, headphones on. Yes, I have to admit, our CD player of the hi-fi set has fallen apart, but that we cannot repair, not in ten afternoons.
The weather today wet and cold, too wet for a walk.
My haiku:
Broken down you are
Poor lamp I gave you away
To the ironware man
And the proverb:
The iron entered into his/her soul.
