Very Flowery

In the end it is not a desperation blip of the Christmas Cacti that takes the limelight today, but the colourful bouquet of flowers presented to me for doing a last minute baby sitting for neighbours at the weekend.

With an M&S birthday tea in the café voucher for two, His Lordship and I rode the trusty 35 bus to the Gyle shopping centre this morning and proceeded to over indulge in scones with jam and cream. The accompanying selection of sandwiches came home with us- we do have limits.

How appropriate that on St Andrew's day, we should be celebrating a Davis Cup win for Britain in tennis, the first time since 1936, thanks largely to Andy and Jamie Murray. The English in general find Andy a dour Scot - hopefully they will now appreciate him more.
Personally I think he has a wicked sense of humour away from the tennis court, but it may be a culture thing.

The sun has made a late appearance, and I can now walk to see my friend omts this afternoon without having to wring out my clothes on arrival.
