baby Morepork....

I have spent all my life never seeing a baby owl, and now in 4 days I have another one. My 3 Little German Owlets are doing really well. Today i got a call from some builders working rurally who had found some owlets in an abandoned shed. They hadn't seen any parents, and this morning 2 of the babies had been killed by rats!! So i drove out and rescued this little fellow. He isn't well, very hungry but alive. I think it is one of our native owls- the Morepork. It is slightly different in shape to the Little German. We will see the outcome. I will take it to our vet tonight.
