Being WildCardinal...

Goodwood

An unexpected day out to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as a friend offered me a spare ticket earlier in the week. A stunningly good day - the weather staked fine and plenty of opportunities for photographs (mainly of cars and bikes going up the hill climb). Ended up taking over 2400 photos - already whittled it down to 140, but may take a little longer to shrink it even further.

Highlights of the day
- seeing Alain Prost who was being interviewed (and he drove up the hill too)
- spotting John Surtees, being ignored by everyone who was concentrating on Stirling Moss. He seemed really happy I went to take his photo
- most of the tool boxes in the paddock are the standard metal set of drawers on wheels. One of the pre-war cars had a lovely wooden tool chest
- lusting after a Jaguar D-Type - may just be my favourite car built (on looks)

Lowlights
- the chap who lost it on one of the corners and put his motorbike into the hay bales. He walked away looking fine thankfully

I'll post a link once I finally get the set up on Flickr. This shot sums up the day for me. Large crowds with drivers/riders showing off.

Only really works bigger.

An ASIPS day out to Lymington tomorrow, should be good. Fingers crossed for the weather.
