SOS Ladders

A gloomy, damp, windy day. A good day for staying indoors and getting on with some sewing. I can't blip what I am sewing, as the things I'm doing are not quite finished and they are a bit secret anyway.  

As I was searching through my sewing basket for something, I realised that several items that I use all the time originally belonged to my mother; they have just become part of my kit. On the other hand here are some of her things that I have never used and which I am highly unlikely ever to use! I had forgotten all about this lovely leather case containing the finest of threads for mending stockings. Strange to think that at some point my mother put that needle away safely and it has never been moved since.
