This afternoon about 5000 people attended a rally in Edinburgh in support of a call for action on Climate Change.  Rallies are planned to throughout the world this weekend ahead of next week's United Nations talks in Paris where international leaders will attempt to agree a deal on cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
On stage is Hardeep Singh Kohl hosting various speakers, one of whom said that the negotiations in Paris must strike a deal to protect the world as the rise in global temperatures, caused largely by pollution, is affecting the poorest people of the world in particular.
It seemed appropriate that two of the prominent umbrellas in the pouring rain, are of the MetOffice and an Eden Project sunflower
