A slice of Lesley's life

Good old fashioned fun

Anna and I spent most of the day at the school Christmas Fair. It is a splendid event run by hordes of parents who contribute so much to the school. Lots of things to buy, eat, do and be entertained by. Including the school choir which Anna performed in and the parents' choir which I didn't but which looked so much fun I might think about joining when things are more settled. It was all fun and reasonably distracting from wondering how Carlos and J were getting on with their Eastward trip. Especially as I had no phone signal the whole time and lots of lovely caring people asking me how he was doing.

Anyway, the boy did well and did 20 minutes outside the tank and is up for going again on Monday.

We followed the Fair with Anna's tap exam, a dog walk and now there will be a fire, take-out, Dr Who, Star Wars Episode IV and red wine.

EDIT: Things I want to remember...on Saturday Live this morning there was a piece on language. And amongst other things they talked about words that exist in other languages that we don't have in English; for example, in Namibia there is a word for running on tiptoes across hot sand and in Denmark there is a word for drinking beer in the sunshine (possibly specifically for the first day of the year when you can do so). When I told Jackson he said there ought to be a word for when you get into a bath and you have managed to get the temperature of the water perfect.
