DONNA NOOK

"Aren't I just adorable?"

Today was the annual trip over to Donna Nook to see the seals and just born pups, which is always a treat. This time we also spotted Ropeneck, so called as she arrived on the sands to have her pup in 2000 but her neck was entangled in discarded fishing nets. Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust wardens and RAF Donna Nook managed to isolate and free her but the netting has left a very deep wound in her neck. She comes back every year to give birth to a pup and this year arrived at the same area of sand and on exactly the same day as last year.

Other news, S returned home from hospital last night and when I spoke to her this morning she was cosily tucked up in bed with a cup of tea. Thank you for everything NHS; I still have my dear friend.
