Thanksgiving

I chose this photo not for its photographic quality, but because it seems to capture some of what Thanksgiving is about.  My wife and her mom have gotten to know each other in ways different than ever before over the past 4 years.  Even though her mom is in a memory care unit, she is not devoid of memory, so they can still have reasonable mother-daughter time.  Perhaps most importantly, there is thanksgiving in her being 94 1/2 so that she is available for my wife and her to have the time to renew a relationship that is more pleasant and positive that some years ago.  Advent begins today, so I hope all of you who choose to do so will have a season of reflection and preparation for the coming of Christmas.
