Bridging
Salford is a half-moated City, with a substantial boundary formed by the Irwell, Ship Canal and Glaze. Since I have worked for the City seven bridges over these waterways have been constructed, and now an eighth is on the way. It is already higher than the adjoining Barton High level bridge carrying the M60 over the Ship Canal.
I am told that on a recent phone in on Radio Manchester there was debate about what these structures are. Missile launchers - no. Fracking drills - no. Some sort of abstract sculpture - no (but that's my excuse for tagging this as an abstract).
The bridge deck arrives by boat late January.
Extra - a better view of the bridge structure (definitely not abstract)
