Barn Owl

A beautiful job of taxidermy.  This poor bird died as a result of eating rodents that had been poisoned. A lady brought it to the Audubon office as a donation.  She added the photo of the bird as it was found on the ground, dead.

Too many of these fine birds fall prey to the poisons we use for rodent control.

The barn owl is a large typical owl native to North America. It's name comes from where it likes to nest - working or non-working barns. Keeping the rodent population at bay.

Please, don't use poisonous baits to kill rodents.
