Day 175: - Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside.

We took my father-in-law to play the Wurlitzer at Blackpool Tower Ballroom as an early Christmas and Birthday present.

We had afternoon tea whilst the ballroom was open to the public, a leisurely affair with people dancing around in shiny shoes. Then when the ballroom closed, we had it all to ourselves for an hour while Grandpa tinkled the ivories - he was nervous but took to it instantly, playing like Reginald Dixon within minutes.  He had the absolute time of his life whilst we enjoyed the beautiful, and slightly surreal experience of being all alone in the grand ballroom. When we left the building we switched the lights off behind us. 

He will be 86 in a couple of weeks, he wants to know how we will top this next year.
