Colour scheme

What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain's brink.
What is red? a poppy's red
In its barley bed.
What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro'.
What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.
What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and ripe and mellow.
What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.
What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.
What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an orange!

Ooof. I've been busy today. A decorating urge came upon me and a full tin of white ceiling paint discovered in the workshop and I was ready to go. It's the sitting room - badly in need of a freshen up but a little controversial as Himself and I have very different opinions to colour schemes. He likes cool white space, uncluttered and full of light - envisage elegant Georgian rooms, wooden shutters, natural objects. I'm a bit more Victorian Gothic meets India, colours, patterns plus stuff. And I'm not adverse to a bit of chintz either! Technically it's his turn to chose this time.  So far so good as we both agreed on a white ceiling and now I have a stiff neck as beams were also involved, 12 of them.  Watch this space.

I meant to report back on the Tuesday's film from Lesotho, The Forgotten Kingdom. A beautiful film - a sort of road trip cum coming of age. The landscape was astonishing - swathes of wild cosmos, round hills and waterfalls; and the people were equally attractive and colourful. Slow, elegant story-telling.  Well worth seeing.

Today's wild offering if for 'youoregon1's   Abstract Thursday challenge - much fartnarkled (thank you for that word Kimb!) Colours are not always so straightforward Christina!

And a Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you across the pond.
