A day at The Metropolitan
Museum of Art.
What not to like? A magnificent building with stunning views over an autumnal Central Park, exceptional displays of fascinating exhibits, a range of subjects that would interest even the most discerning of Scots and a free museum sticker for your shirt with every entrance fee.
We spent about three hours expanding our minds, before heading to Tiffany's on Fifth Avenue to shrink our wallets in exchange for some ear lobe candy.
Our chauffeur for the day was Big Bill Blinn who excelled in every way. Except when he directed us to a cigar smokers club for drinks to calm my nerves after the shock of a Tiffany's bill, but he quickly recovered and before long we were sitting at a bar in a classy Italian restaurant on Maddison Avenue, sipping G & Ts and nibbling Calamares before heading back to Mendham for Prince Edward Isle Mussels
