Summer!

A beautiful day to be out on the water with the Wednesday Paddlers. We kayaked to Ripapa Island, from Cass Bay, against a NE wind on a dropping tide which made for some steep waves - interesting paddling!
There was a pair of oyster catchers nesting on the beach, rather anxious about our presence. We were lucky to catch a glimpse of the beautifully speckled egg in the nest, but didn't hang around. They're very optimistic about a high tide not reaching the nest though.

The internet is still very very slow, so please forgive me for no commenting! Thanks for all the wonderful comments about the lovely little pink/lavender flower yesterday - I still haven't found out its name either.
