Who Wants To Be A Poodle?

Here we were, thinking we had had all the fun of this day already on our morning walkie. I played the game Is the ice thick enough? throughout the entire forest walkie, and mum let me, because it has been so cold the last couple of nights. We also did lots of recall training. When we got back to the dog club, we saw that the agility gear was still out, oddly enough, so I had a go at a couple of jumps before we got Hedwig out and did our dancing routine - in the agility field! I half expected her to fly off through a tunnel of something.

But when we got home, there was a Lovely Surprise! in our mailbox! A big brown, heavy envelope, addressed to Me! Wow!

I started to open it as fast as I could, but mum insisted on helping, so it took like forever. Inside, there were several presents to unwrap, some for mum, some for me. I got: a card from my best poodle Blip friend Dolly, a blue real balloon, a bag of truly amazing! American pumpkin-cranberry baked treats and a storybook about a poodle. And it wasn't even my birthday or anything, I checked! How nice is that? Mum also got presents as you can see. Amazing!

First things first, the treat bag was opened. Oh, they were yummy! We settled down in the sofa to read the story about Trixie Twinkle Toes, the white toy poodle who didn't like being dressed up in ponchos and only got to walk in sunshine and never was allowed to step outside the path. Poor Trixie! She dreamed of stepping in puddles like a real dog, and ended up not only doing that, but being a superhero! And her mum finally got it. I think MY mum will think twice before she suggests boots after reading this...

And then, I finally got my balloon and had a short but glorious playtime with it. The book was called "Who wants to be a poodle? Not me" My answer is: Me! I love being a poodle, especially on days like this. Thank you Heidi and Dolly!!!
