A dear friend

I generally play with this artist/friend on Friday evenings at a local pub but, another band called with a better (read more money) offer. This fellow is so versatile - he can play a wicked bass with his left hand so the band he's playing with tonight gets four musicians for the price of three - piano/bass, flute, and drums. The only problem is the gig is outside. The temps today were in the high 90's with very little cool down this evening.
